Governors

In accordance with the Government’s requirement for all governing bodies, the three core strategic functions of Kings Heath Secondary School Governing Body are:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
  2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

The Governing Body of Kings Heath Secondary School, with all roles filled, is made up of:
  • Two parent governors
  • One LA governor
  • One staff governor
  • The Headteacher
  • Six co-opted governors

The total number of governors is eleven. The term of office of governors (except the Headteacher) is four years. The Governing Body has a programme of meetings throughout the school year, and a cyclical structure that rotates on specific areas of governance.

These are:

  • Resources (dealing, among other things with Staffing and Finance matters)
  • Data, Curriculum and School Development

The Governing Body usually meets 5 times a year; committees meet separately.
