Pastoral Care
We are very proud of the pastoral care that we offer to all our students at Kings Heath Secondary School.
Each child is part of a tutor group and has a form tutor. The form tutor is a key member of staff and is responsible for establishing a happy, secure and supportive relationship with their group.
Students feel safe and happy in having someone who they can look to for support and guidance. Students meet with their tutor for 35 minutes every day.
At times, students may have difficulties and concerns that require more specialist support. To cater to the needs of these students we liaise with a wide number of agencies. We also have academic and personal mentors and coaches, staff to support with attendance and family support workers.
Each year group has a Learning Development Manager (LDM). The LDM Is responsible for the personal and academic progress of all students in the year group and will also oversee rewards. Each year group has a linked member of the senior leadership team.
We also have a well-being co-ordinator, with lots of activities during the year to support students with their physical and mental well-being.
